The holiday season is just around the corner and now is the time to start planning your holiday marketing strategy. To help you, we’ve listed some great tips and ideas.

Plan Ahead

Think it’s too early to start thinking about your holiday marketing strategy? Think again! You need time to come up with ideas and then implement them in time. Whether it is designing and printing mailers, designing and scheduling emails or hosting a holiday open house, you’ll want to have all the details in place by go time.

Two Easier Ideas

One easy way to increase your marketing presence is to increase your marketing emails to your existing customer base. Let them be the first to know of any sales you will be holding during the holiday season or remind patients with flex-spending accounts to use their benefits before the end of the year. The second easy marketing push is to increase your ad spend on social media. This will allow you to reach new, potential customers letting them know of any great holiday deals you have running.

Offer Gift Certificates

Remind your patients that they can give the gift of sight or a clean and healthy smile by offering gift certificates for exams, cleanings, eyewear or contact lenses.

Charity Event

Doing a charity can increase the visibility of your practice and boost morale in the office. Promote your high-end designer eyewear with a trunk show charity event and collect old eyewear to donate as the entry fee. Or sponsor a family or two for holidays meals, gift giving or a free eye or dental appointment. Place a giving tree in the waiting room or gather gift donations. Consider matching monetary donations from patients or even making a donation on behalf of anyone who refers a new patient that results in an appointment by a date set by you. Don’t forget to send an email to patients about your charity event!

Greeting Card or Family Letter

Send a greeting card in the mail to your current patients. Remember to craft your greeting based on your audience and the more personalized they are, the more memorable they are. Or warm hearts with a family holiday letter. This approach is very personal and memorable. Include highlights from the past year such as any achievements, what your office is thankful for, the number of patients you saw or anything else that shows how productive you and your team have been over the year. End it by wishing your patients a happy holiday season.

Host a Holiday Open House

Hosting a holiday open house can bring in foot traffic and help remind patients to schedule an appointment before the end of the year. Decorate the front of the office for the season and maybe even invite Santa. Have crafts for kids, provide hot chocolate and treats, maybe do a raffle and just have some fun!
